Misty mornings

The theme for this weeks gallery over on the Sticky Fingers blog is mornings. You should really go and have a look at Tara's post for this theme, it will make you think!

Here is my entry – We have just been to Loch Lomond with my family and as my relatives kindly offered to watch our little girl for a while, my husband and I raced off (well I plodded) up Conic Hill. The views were just breathtaking and as it was morning the mist was just lifting off the sides of the mountains, so beautiful! We were the only people up there, pure tranquility.

The Gallery – Our Easter

Our Easter was so much fun this year. On Sunday morning when I wished her happy Easter she straight away asked if the Easter bunny had been. So cute! He left her a note in the lounge to say due to the rain he had hidden 5 eggs in the lounge. I wish the age of believing could last forever!!

This is my entry to The Gallery for the theme Easter... make sure you go and have a look at all the other wonderful entries.

At Peace

This is my favourite thing to do. To lie on a rug with my little girl in the garden and spot shapes in the cloud. I love getting a cuddle in and listening to her imagination taking flight (although the same shapes do seem to appear a lot!)

This is me feeling at peace and is my entry to this weeks The Gallery for the Sticky Fingers blog.

Slipping Standards

So here is my entry for this weeks 'The Gallery' (please don't judge me!)

Ever since reading Tara Cain's theme for this week, extreme close up, I've been looking at the detail in the every day things I normally gloss over. It's amazing how much you don't notice as you go about life.

And, from all that, I chose to photograph this. Well it made me laugh, and those are the best kind of photos!

Don't forget to check out the Sticky Finger's blog in more detail where you will find all the other entries. Emily x

Colourful talk

The theme for this weeks gallery over on the Sticky Fingers blog is colour. When I got home from work last night I found this little chap sitting up on the kitchen stool.
It reminded me of a conversation we'd had at the weekend. As I was strapping Squiggle in the car seat I asked her what her favourite colour was. She said yellow. I agreed that yellow was beautiful, just like the sun. She replied:
"But because it's the colour of giraffes!!"
She is giraffe mad our girl!

In two lights

I love this photo because I always see it in two different lights.
Firstly it reminds me of beautiful crisp winters days, with the light making dramatic patterns and having the park all to ourselves.
Secondly because of what was really going on... I was trying to capture this moment as I was in hysterics laughing at Squiggle. She was standing at the fence practicing her posing and pouting. I have no idea why (this is not something I do) but it was very entertaining!
This is my entry to Sticky Finger's 'The Gallery', why not take a look at some other entries? I'm sure there will be some beautiful ones this week!

The Gallery – Friends

I took this photo on my hen do. Only my friends could make a trip on the duck tours the most hilarious outing ever... or maybe it was all that booze we had just drunk... Now I'm just waiting on some of them to hurry up and have babies so we can swap hen dos for play dates!

This is my entry for the Sticky Fingers Gallery this week. I'm off to check out the other entries, they are always wonderful!

My Landscape

My entry for Sticky Fingers 'The Gallery' this week

This is my favourite spot, it's no secret to the world but it feels like it is while you're there. Port Ballintoy Harbour in North Antrim, Northern Ireland. The quality of the photo's not great as I took it on a disposable camera (imagine!) but the landscape is still beautiful.

Embarrassing outfits

So here is my entry for this weeks gallery theme – Embarrassing Outfits.
I don't need to say too much about this one... at the time I felt it a genius way of keeping dry on a water ride... looking back at the photo evidence, pretty embarrassing!

The Gallery

 A Family Story

I've been following the gallery as a blog reader and really enjoyed it so now, as I'm getting my own blog together, I was eager to find out how you join the club! I was very excited to find The Sticky Finger's blog open and friendly, with a lovely invite to all bloggers to come and join in, hurray!

So here is my first entry,  I love the theme as it really made me think back through old photos and brought back lovely memories. This is one of my all time favourite pics, I think I took it when I was about 10 with my new camera (long before the days of digital cameras don't you know!) I love how it shows the three generations of men in the family, although they like to think they're pretty different, this photo tells a different story! Look at the concentration on their faces, they all share the same competitive streak when it comes to sports... the ladies of our family have long since learnt to opt out of games such as this!!

My Grandpa loved sports and didn't like to lose. I remember going to see him in hospital not long before he passed away (at the grand age of 92!) and he pretended he'd never played draughts before just in case I beat him... I didn't! He's left so many fantastic moments like that with me and photos like this bring them all back.
